From 6 to under 16, we are pleased to be able to provide the opportunity for girls and boys to play Rugby and to make many new friends.

The club are proud to be one of the top junior rugby clubs in the County.
The Westoe RFC Junior Section is at the heart of one of England's oldest and most respected rugby clubs. Based at the historic Wood Terrace ground in South Shields, Westoe RFC has been inspiring young players and serving the local community since the club was founded in 1875. The club remains on the same ground today, a testament to its enduring place in the sporting and social life of South Tyneside.
Our Junior Section provides rugby opportunities for boys and girls of all abilities, from their first introduction to the game through to youth rugby. Whether a child dreams of representing their county, playing at the highest level, or simply making friends and enjoying sport, Westoe offers a welcoming environment where every player can develop confidence, teamwork, resilience, respect and sportsmanship.
Led by dedicated RFU-qualified coaches and supported by a team of volunteers, parents and club members, the Junior Section is built on the values that have defined Westoe Rugby for generations. We believe rugby is more than just a game; it is about creating lifelong friendships, developing character, and becoming part of a community that supports each other both on and off the pitch.
The 2025–2026 season marks a truly historic milestone as Westoe RFC celebrates its 150th Anniversary. Founded by Charlie Green and a group of young friends in 1875, the club has grown from humble beginnings into one of the North East's most respected rugby institutions, producing international players and creating opportunities for thousands of young people across generations.
As we celebrate 150 years of rugby heritage, the Junior Section proudly represents the future of the club. Today's young players are the next generation of Westoe members, coaches, volunteers and ambassadors. Throughout this landmark anniversary season, we will honour our past, celebrate our present and inspire our future, ensuring that the values and traditions that have made Westoe special continue for the next 150 years.
