A word from our Junior Chairman.

After an initial 4 weeks trial period to see if your child enjoys playing rugby, (tag rugby for U6, U7 & U8), you must register with the Rugby Football Union. There is a club membership fee of £35.00 which increases to £45 for U15, U16 and Colts. Each team charges subscriptions and these vary. Details may be obtained from the team coach/manager.

For details of training please refer to the training …. The seasons fixtures for the minis (U7 to U12) are shown in the fixture section. All players must wear the appropriate clothing and footwear particularly in cold weather. In addition, it is preferable that a gum shield be worn by all children, as recommended by the RFU. All players will need a clean change of clothes as players are not allowed in the clubhouse in their dirty kit. This rule also applies to clubs we visit for away games.

During games and training the Club expects a high standard of behaviour from parents/guardians and players both on and off the pitch towards coaches, players, referees, spectators, staff and property from both teams (see the code of conduct outline). We encourage the children to bring drinks of water or juice (non fizzy) to sessions. I would also like to ask parents not to encourage children to eat during sessions as this could lead to the children feeling unwell or choking if they fall down during the session. There will be plenty of time to reward the children for all their hard work with hot dogs, sweets and drinks etc. after the session.

If unavailable for a match please inform your coach, if possible, 48 hours before the game or in the case of illness as soon as possible. All children are to be accompanied by an adult to training and away matches.

Anyone wishing to include photographs or other details on the junior club website should contact enquires@southshieldswestoeclub.co.uk

If any parent would like to help with coaching, the Club will reimburse the cost of any courses you need to complete, for more information see me. If any parent would like to help out in the clubhouse/tuck shop or has any ideas to help raise funds for the Junior section please contact me. It is essential for the future of the respective teams that parents become involved in some way.
